Price displayed is for $30 class fee + $10 kit fee + $0.70 local tax; you will receive your kit in class.

Sashiko is a form of decorative reinforcement stitching or functional embroidery from Japan. In this introductory workshop to hand Sashiko, students will learn about the history of Sashiko and the basic supplies needed to stitch this unique style. Jen will also show you how to work the stitch and transfer designs, as well as discuss its application for big-stitch hand quilting and Boro, Japanese mending. Students will stitch a preprinted coaster that can be finished in class or at home. Time permitting, students will also mend clothing using Sashiko stitches. Stitchers beware…Sashiko is addictive!
