Brenda Grampsas is an American Quilter’s Society, Paducah, KY, Certified Appraiser of quilts and quilted textiles, certified in 2005. This certification was obtained following several years of study, mentoring by a certified appraiser, and passing a rigorous testing processing which included written and verbal exams. She is a member of the Professional Association of Appraisers Quilted Textiles.
Brenda has a special interest in antique quilts and has had the privilege of documenting the quilt collections of Heritage Village, Largo, Florida and the St. Petersburg Museum of History, St. Petersburg, Florida.

Quilt Restoration Workshop with Brenda Grampsas

This workshop is designed to teach basic restoration skills needed to complete restoration work on a typical quilt.
-Evaluation of whether or not the quilt is a good candidate for restoration.
-Evaluation of restoration work needed. Worksheet completion.
-Fabric and batting selection. Sources of these materials.
-Hand applique, embroidery and quilting stitches most often used.

Brenda Grampsas, AQS Certified Appraiser of Quilted Textiles, will present this Lecture/Trunk Show about the Care & Laundering of Quilts. Should you wet wash a quilt? Sometimes the answer is “NO”. The answer can also be “YES”! Brenda has had success laundering quilts using some rather unconventional methods.
